The Love Story

It’s true that it is possible to find real love online! This happened for Vivian and Mike who matched on Bumble and after their first date they never left each other! Vivian and Mike love to travel and after a trip to Positano a few years ago they decided it was the perfect place to plan their wedding on the Amalfi coast.

It is common to read on blogs that when couples decide for a destination wedding they are looking for a more intimate affair, but this actually wasn’t true for Vivian and Mike. In fact they invited more than 120 guests and over 90 guests attended their Villa Cimbrone wedding in Ravello.

Vision For The Day

Vivian and Mike, from the beginning of the planning process, had a very clear idea of what they wanted for their destination wedding. They summarized their dream experience into 3 words: Romantic, elegant and overall fun wedding day. Yes, because when you plan a large destination wedding and ask your guests to travel to Italy (what a good excuse!) you should guarantee something that they will never forget! They were looking to host a beautiful wedding but really wanted to add authentic experiences to make a memorable wedding weekend.

Planning a Villa Cimbrone Wedding

The planning started and as per the first step it was important to define the wedding date and the wedding venue. After considering the different options the Amalfi coast offers, they fell in love with Ravello and picked one of the most exclusive venues the area offers: Villa Cimbrone. Villa Cimbrone offers lush gardens and breathtaking views from every single corner and the WOW factor is a guarantee!

This couple decided it was best to divide and conquer during their planning process. Vivian was in charge for everything related to the vision, including the mood and the style of the day, with a very accurate eye for the details and to the color palette. Mike was in charge of choosing the food and accompanying wine, as well as the music and the party atmosphere!

For Vivian and Mike it was important to give a crescendo and let guests to see the beauty of the place. With this in mind, they choose the Garden of the 2O for the wedding ceremony with a gorgeous view of the Amalfi Coastline. For the cocktail hour they had guests join them on the Infinity Terrace, which is without any doubt one of the most breathtaking and unique spot of the entire Amalfi coast! Finally, they chose the crypt for their reception dinner and the party after.

Choosing The Right Vendors

The music was also a very important aspect for Mike, so he made sure every moment was curated with just the right musical vibe. Everyone enjoyed the entertainment of the roaming band Knight Club that made a super fun party. Given the colour palette, made by a romantic shade of blush and touch of  warm pink, the flower decorations were curated by Malafronte florist. As per the dress, Vivian wore a creation of Monique Lhuillier Bride, while Mike decided to go for a tailor made green tuxedo.

Experiences To Add For A Memorable 3-Day Event

To top it all off, Vivian and Mike added 2 extra events to their wedding day. Their welcome event was at Trattoria da Lorenzo located in Scala, a small village close to Ravello. While enjoying delicious food, guests got to experience fresh mozzarella made live in front of them at a fresh pasta demonstration. They also added a custom experience where guests could design their own sandals, to enjoy walking along the street of the Amalfi coast in.

It is always very important to accurately plan the welcome event as it is the first moment in which all your guests gather together for you! It needs to be curated and full of nice things to do in order to get the right start for the wedding celebration. 

The day after the wedding, we moved all guests from Ravello to Nerano. The couple hosted a relaxing beach day at the iconic Conca del Sogno, including a the Sgroppino show! It was obviously how much Vivian and Mike truly cherished their loved ones, as they curated a magical wedding weekend to sweep everyone off their feet.
